I started out the day a little bit nervous – well – more than a little bit nervous! As I sat in front of my laptop and the Zoom screen today – I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation and transitioned from candidate to scholar!

Completing a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership is the culmination of many great experiences in higher education. I truly do believe “education is everything”, it changed my life, and the lives of those around me and I am forever appreciative and thankful to all those who have been patient with me, supported me, and believed that I would get this done!

My dissertation is entitled “California Community Colleges: Social Media Practices, A Qualitative Study.

In the next few weeks, I will be sending the research participants their personal copy of the dissertation, and then, I will be moving forward on the publishing journey. More to come!
